Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) is a group of rare, inherited eye diseases that cause gradual vision loss. It happens when the light-sensitive cells in the retina, called photoreceptors, break down over time. This leads to difficulty seeing in low light, loss of peripheral (side) vision, and eventually, central vision loss.
